ABOUT THE AUTHOR

  Amy Rene Ford, RN, BSN, OCN

Amy Ford has held positions as an infusion nurse, transplant coordinator, radiation oncology nurse and research nurse. In her role as research nurse at Baylor Institute for Immunology Research (BIIR), Amy was responsible for assisting with clinical trials related to dendritic cells and immune modulation. She is an oncology certified nurse and received the nurse of the year award for outstanding practice.

Amy received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Baylor University. She was the first graduate nurse employed by the Texas Oncology for the outpatient bone marrow transplant clinic at Baylor - Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center in Dallas.

She has been employed with Creative Cancer Concepts as a clinical education specialist since 2006. Amy's primary role is to educate professionals caring for patients with cancer on a variety of topics including symptom management and newer treatment approaches.
